More about traded policies

Every year policies with total cash values of millions of rand are being surrendered in South Africa by people who want to restructure their portfolios, reduce debt, free up their cash flow, increase benefits and/or add risk protection. But policies and investments are tradable instruments, and in some cases these financial instruments may have an intrinsic value which is much higher than the surrender value offered by insurance companies. All Restricted policies and investments can now be traded to release the tradable value thereof – cash in your hands.

Polinvest specialises in traded policies services (also called second-hand policies) – obtaining and providing trading quotations — the alternative to the early surrender of investments or policies. Polinvest provides quotes of willing and able buyers for insurance contracts that meet the buyers trading criteria. This holds benefits for policyholders, investors, financial institutions, financial advisers and the executors of estates.

We maintain complete transparency throughout the entire trading process, disclosing all fixed costs, the fee structure and total trading price paid by the buyer.

• Financial advisers: We provide valuation and trading services to financial advisers, the executors of estates and agents involved in the trading of their clients' policies and investments. Financial advisers can also negotiate a fee with their clients.
• Financial and Banking Institutions: Instead of following the normal process of surrendering clients’ policies and investments when realising the institutions securities, the institution can rather trade these policies and investments and thereby receive a higher value for the financial institutions assets. Trading of the institutions securities, offers a higher redemption in clients’ debt.

Polinvest is not registered as a Financial Services Provider, but we obtain all information and quotations from authorised representatitves and Financial Services Providers registered as such with the Financial Services Board.
